Anyone here recently have a home built in Ottawa by a custom home builder? Mrs. Vantage and I just bought a lot at Moffat Farm (sorry Indio, we're not heading to Orleans), and we want to build our dream home.
Want to hear some feedback before we sign a builder.

Not your direct question, but here's some related advice. If you haven't planned on having a dedicated architect do you drawings, etc. do it. Don't just use the builder for those things.
We just finished a major reno and our architect, in addition to doing the drawings also chased permits, did site inspections, etc. In essence she supervised the construction for us so that all we had to do was make final decisions on finish material.
Your architect should also be able to suggest some good home builders for you.
My mother had her home built by Oxford Construction and was very satisfied. They do a lot of homes in the Kemptville/Merrickville area, but I'm sure they'll do sites closer to Ottawa as well.

Build using ICF's ( Insulated Concrete Forms ). I work for one. If you want additional info - PM me.
I will second a nomination for Oxford Construction. I have seen houses they have built and know people personally who live in them and it is quality through and through.
