This has been fascinating. It is winter outside and a few hours killed.
I wonder what I can do with this little high speed low torque 4v motor?
Also I wanted to clearify something with regards to the sphere of aluminum and tungsten, If you put the sphere into a check go like item and the heavy side is down and perfectly balanced it will probably stay down because of the strength of the gravitational forces on it. It would be in a equilibrium statics state and would continue at that state until there would be an unbalanced forced applied to it and then the heavy and light sides would try to get to the 90 degrees mark. with some serious shaking going on. It's like a war between gravitational and Centrifugal forces going on and I think I need an aspirin.
Good article in the March Golf Digest on this. Basically says that there is no perfectly balanced ball, BUT, until you can make the perfect stroke, all the other factors will have more impact on the result than an off balanced ball. Also said that if you think about the ball being off balance that will also affect your putt. Bottom line, unbalanced ball is NOT a factor worth worrying about. Glad I didn't buy that Check Go, but for those who did and use it, if it gives you a sense of confidence then it's worth the $34.95 you paid.
