That's too bad. They made some awesome clubs.
Despite all the hoopla about the Pro V1 balls, I've never had one dance and sizzle on the green like the Nike Spin Control balls I used to play. Their quad keel fairway woods were stellar, they have some great putter designs and they make some of the nicer bags out there. Shame...
Agreed , the new line of Vapor and the Covert were top notch , I'm not sure what pushed the decision , but it's a shame after all the progress they've made.
I guess we will see some really discounted prices soon. This maybe time to create another backup set!
I wonder if Dick's ships to Canada LOL
Ogdensburg :) even with $100 of tax might still be worth if if you can get the Vapor irons for $299
Callaway's stock up 8% earlier today.
can't say that i have seen a any of the people i play with using Nike equip
Not to worry guys---they will come out in another color
next year with an asterix beside the new name :-)
I wonder how would this affect their warranty
I guess once any Nike club is broken there's no way you will be getting a replacement
They can't compete with Taylormade release cycles and marketing machine
Let the discounts start. GT has discounted all their Irons at least. $499.99 for the Vapor Pro Combo...
I was looking up some of the discontinued Nike clubs on the Golftown website and noticed they seem to be tapping directly into the Golf Avenue listings (where all their trade-ins go). They've changed the formatting slightly but it's basically www.golfavenue.ca

I just bought the Vapor Pro Blades...couldn't pass it up. Look for my Nike VR Forged Pro Combo Irons to go up for sale soon :)
Sounds like more than just Nike in trouble in the golf industry.

I heard that Under armor is buying Nike's golf division? If so, will UnderArmor start selling clubs? I kinda hope so. I recently talked with a guy at a golf shop close to my home town, and he told me that Taylormade is trying to end the Adams brand too. I suppose that's expected after a big name buys out a smaller name, but my fiancé really does well with her old adams clubs. We ended up going with Cleveland for her this time around, but with some Adams hybrids added in. Idk, things change, I just sometimes wish they wouldn't.
What's happened to Adams is a bloody tragedy. They were a great club maker and they've been absorbed and about to be dissolved by TaylorMade who seemed more interested in their patents/technology while removing a competitor in one fell stroke...
Agreed. I own a #2 hybrid by Adams that will forever be in my bag. Idk why, but I can hit that club almost better than my driver, and definitely with better control. My friends give me crap when I pull it out, but after I'm done... they usually shut up... Overall, I really just hate seeing the diversity in manufacturers go away. I have several TM clubs. I like them, but I want competition to continue to push these big club makers to get better.
