Stonebridge #18 - from bunker, over green, over water onto land

hi,

So friend and I are wondering on what he should have done.

#18 Stonebridge.
In the greenside bunker in front of green (side farthest from water/clubhouse).
Hits ball out of bunker, over green, over the water and lands on the grass on the otherside (to the left).
We don't recall if that was 'out of bounds'. We assume most likely as the only way to get there would be to walk all the way around by the patios.
Is it out of bounds?
Where should he have dropped the ball? Back in bunker? In the fairway farther from the hole and hit over the bunker this time?

Drop would be back in the bunker as near as possible to the original location if you hit from the bunker to OB

It is up to the golf club to determine the boundaries of the course. If it is not marked as OB (i.e., with white stakes) and the ball was still on the course property, then it is likely that the ball would NOT be out of bounds.
