St. Louis.
First series.... Penguins vs Philly.... Wow!!
Philly are just being a bunch of babies. You really expect to crosscheck Sid from behind with no payback? And to complain about a clean hit after Briere spears a guy in the groin.......please! Should be a great series.

Nashville / Pittsburgh final - Pitt takes home the hardware
not sure about the rest of you but I have been glued to the t.v for the Pitt - Philly games. I really admire Philly's no quit attitude , Giroux is a beast and if Bryz gets the yahoos out of his brain they could go far. I like Pitt but there defence is shaky , far too many high risk plays on the back end. It ain't over till it's over but loosing 2 home games after you had 3-0 & 3-1 leads means some serious readjusting prior to game 3.
Glad to see the response from the Sens in the first period , gotta admire Carkner & Knopka for their roles on the team , now if someone could handcuff Callaghan ....
GO SENS
Is it fair to say that Shanahan has failed at disciplining players? Every night is headshot night in the NHL now. Players have no respect for each other.
Carkner is quite the guy...one fight and he put a price on Alfie's head and the Rangers collected!!
That tone was set with Tortarella's game plan of "lets punch their best player in the head six times and rough him up at every oppertunity and put him off his game" , Carkner did what he had to do , That POS ,with his cheap head shot ,will get a big suspension or retribution for Alfie will come game 3 & 4 home in Ottawa , Shanaghan better get this one right , or its gonna be real ugly from here on in .
It was horrible watching game 1 and the way they were just punching karlsson's head for no reason. I love fighting and aggressive play but after the play scrums are so stupid. If they want to allow those types of things then I'm all for what Carkner did last night. What a win. We played so badly! Turn overs, horrible passes, and Spezza was horrible... but we won! In the past we had an all star team and if we played badly we lost! I love this team!
almost every series is mean spirited , alot of hate going on. Have seen more scraps 3 games into the playoffs this year than I have seen the past 3 yrs combined.
i love the hate, but not the headshots.
Every team so far has been dirty and to be honest, the NHL looks like a joke so far. In what sport do they ignore all rules after a whistle? In my opinion, all the scrums and facewashing and headlocks etc after the whistles ruin the games.
Karlson is a target for the Rangers, but Karlson is no angel... with 2 slewfoots and a few slashes to the back of peope legs, he deserves what he gets.
Konopkas headlock take down of Richards was brutal and dangerous!
Why can't the refs call penalties? Why does the league allow things to escalate to the point it becomes a joke?
When the whistle goes, players have to stop !!! If they don't, its a penalty!
I have lost interest in the playoffs and it is only the first round...
If it means 10 guys in the box, big deal.
To get back to my original post #1 on this thread: it is so refreshing to see/hear 20,000 fans at Scotia Bank Place all cheering for the home team !
Go Sens ...
One more game in Ottawa and then the "Bank" will be empty....
Shopping for a Pekka Rinne voodoo doll on ebay
What a great game , glad to see both teams concentrating on playing hockey this time , can't wait till the next one
Spezza!!!!!
Huge game by Anderson and Spezza!!!!!!!!!!
I thought the Pens had what it took ( did not factor in weak defence and sub par goaltending ) but I have to hand it to Philly they deserverd to win. Especially since they blew up the team last summer, it sure has worked out for them so far, lots of exciting young players on the Flyers. Bryz may be their eventual achilies heel.
Sens played a perfect road game on Saturday , looking good for them , but they need to play it 1 game at a time. Anderson has been stellar.
Sens win and hopefully Tortorella shuts up !
Bye Syd, don't let the door hit you on the way out...
Remember all that Pens dynasty talk?
crickets
yeah Fleury tried to catch one of those crickets , was right in front of him , he put his had on it and it went through his legs
dynasties are few and far between these days. They've still got a great team but didn't perform and hats off to Philly for re-tooling last year and coming back better than ever. Imagine if Pronger was playing for them right now how good they would be. I still think goaltending is their weak link but they can score goals like there is no tomorrow. It was unfortunate the Pens had to play Philly in the first round due to the stupidity of the NHL playoff seeding, but they would have had to play them sooner or later to win the cup. Next
