Why all the fuss about driving the green on a par 4? I caddied for my wife several years ago in a tournament and not only did she drive the green of a par 4, she holed it.
Now that's something to brag about.:)

Thought the exact same thing when I read it. :-)
Regardless, it is a great drive. If anyone want to feel good about themselves and have a good chance to drive a green, I suggest #13 at Stonebridge, however, IMO it is a much easier hole to score on when laying up off the tee.
Conditions are always gonna play a big part, I drove #10 at Pineview last year (354 from blues) but I'm not telling anyone what the conditions were like :)
Indeed. We played the Marshes yesterday and on #10 with the wind at our back, I tagged one 384 (measured by my SG5). Unfortunately the wind wasn't so kind on #18 where even a low pull driver that might have hit the cart path only went about 240.
I tried to duplicate Donny's shot on 11, which resulted in me hitting it about 120 yards right of the target. Forgot how tough of a hole that one is to hit driver on.
Here's where my ball stopped and where the pin placement was. Instead of putting through 10 feet of fringe, I used my wedge and then put the bird. What exactly is the fringe considered anyway, stat wise? Is it considered a fairway hit?

Actually I went about it the wrong way. I should have written:
Great drive and can you tell us more about the drive (i. e did you fly the water and the trap -and how much roll you think you got after the ball landed. Was it a fade or a draw or a straight drive and how you went about adding so much yardage to your drives.
I feel the same as Gropper here, but subtract 50 yards.:confused
There are times I could swear I have hit the ball flush only to find it has gone a very short distance. What I think I have learned from it though, is how important center hits are, espcially on the driver. Off center hits might still feel and look great, but don't necessairly result in long drives.
I find yelling Kaapow! or Booom! at impact severely increases the distance I get. Thanks to the Golf Channel!
And the winner for thread the least likely to get 100 replies???
See what you started Donny! :-)
one drive to rule them all...
We need more details here.
When yelling Kaapow, is the impact with the ball on the Ka, or the pow? Is the emphasis on the sylable which coincides with impact?
If on the Ka, does the aa, extend until the pow coindices with the ball landing? Or, is the pow when you reach the end of your swing?
Of course, the pow might be on impact. In this case, is the Ka at the beginning of the downswing, or at some specific point in the middle of it? Is the pow a short sylable, sort of like a quick exhale, or is it a long drawn out one, more like powwwwwwww?
Of course, I assume that for Booom, it is a point-of-impact thing. Right?
Enquiring minds want, correction need, to know.
The pow definitely has to be at impact, and a nice long Kaaa during the backswing and up until striking the ball. It wouldn't be good any other way.
Try ka-kaw:-)
