17th Sawgrass - Drop Area?

Did a quick search but couldn't find anything....

If a ball goes off the back of the green on this hole, can a player drop within 2 clublengths, not nearer to the hole? Can you drop on the green?

Or does he have to re-hit form the tee box or go to the drop area?

A player today hit one off the back, right near the small track of land going onto the green, could he have dropped on this track of land if it was within 2 clublengths of point of entry?

I'm pretty sure the entire island is yellow staked, which prevents what you are describing.

If it were red staked at the back then they could use the lateral hazard rules for dropping.

ya JV is right.. if u were watching todays action.. .twice balls went off the back and they pitched on from the grass behind the green on the other side of the water... both were pretty much cheeping up that pathway on the back of the green...love that hole.. would love to play it one day.... OH and a solid gold toilet... yup.. is nice
