With the threat on new restrictions looming....any chance golf will shutdown?
Doug just announced that Golf Courses (along with all outdoor activities) are "restricted". Not sure what that means but it does not sound good ......
Elliot says courses to be closed.
Very conflicting news.
Sounds like complete closure for the extent of the stay at home order.
Closed according to Adam Stanley.

Yep, golf is closed effective at midnight tonight, Elliott announced it during the press conference. With the stay at home order extended 2 weeks, looks like we won't be golfing again until around 19 May. Similar to last year.
arrrgghhhh ...
Ridiculous....
Government stupidity is truly beyond comprehension.
Ridiculous
very frustrating.
Is Quebec an option or was there border restrictions? It was very hard to follow very unorganized and conflicting statements. And I think I tuned out once I heard no more golf
Influx into Gatineau Incoming lol.
I don't get it,big box will still allow max 25 per cent inside where ventilation is not ideal..outdoors golfing where we will be distanced once on the fairways is a no no..sensless
You're only suppose to cross borders for essential needs. Don't get caught in the course parking lot with Ontario plates it could cost you $1500
Definitely risky to try to cross border.
This will be a cash grab for the hungry Surete du quebec and gatineau police. They enjoy pulling over Ontario plates during non emergency times.....This will be a field day for them. No way will I take a chance crossing the border.
Koko Koko. Isn’t the city of Ottawa just as hungry regarding parking tickets and the likes? The Police here is not after people from Ontario. Now if you’re going 75k in a 50k zone you can bet they will go after anyone no matter where they’re from.
Catching Covid outside is extremely rare. It evaporates. Ultra violet light kills it. Wind will disperse it. And that’s sitting on a patio in the city. Golf is like walking alone in an open field. Bad decision.
As much as I hate it, I don't think Doug Ford had a choice. He couldn't impose tighter restrictions and let golf slide. I think the courses did a wonderful job in spacing tee times, eliminating touch points etc. It was probably one of the safest activities to participate in. At least i got a few rounds in prior to this lockdown.
The few courses and driving ranges that opened early at least saw some revenue...the ones that were slated to open this upcoming week will be behind the 8 ball again to start the season.
