This question has probably been aswered before, but if someone could give me an answer that would be great. I have a grafalloy pro launch 65g regular flex standard length driver shaft, that I want to put in a 3 wood(which has a steel shaft in it right now). If the driver shaft is cut down, will it affect the stiffness of the shaft? Will the shaft even fit into a 3 wood? What will the weight be like...will I have to get something done to make the shaft heavier? Let me know. Thanks.
yes it will make it stiffer and yes it will fit with a plug :)
If you tip trim it, it will make it stiffer for sure but if you take it off the butt, it will not make as much of a difference
How so Richard? The 3 wood head is heavier. THAT WILL OFFSET THE SHORTER LENGTH.So not necessarily stiffer. Why would you use a plug?Quote:

Weight can be added to the head if you want to obtain a specific swingweight.
Thanks for the replies...is there anyone on here that would be able to put this shaft in my 3 wood for me or should I go to golfworks or Artisan to get this done?
if the shaft is .335 and the head is .35 then you will need a plug. Why is the shaft heavier? he is taking a driver shaft (prob 65g) and cutting it from the butt down about 3 inches, maybe even 4. That will make it stiffer for sure
