Played Mapleview in Perth last Sunday. Surprisingly dry, they had golf carts out (Cart path only), and I don't even think I came home with any mud on my shoes. I was very impressed with the condition of this course being that it was April 2nd. The greens were already cut and rolled pretty good. Eagled number 4 then went and tripled 3 other holes... on route to a 96. All in all I would recommend it, but the 1 hour drive from Ottawa doesn't sit very well. Anyone play the Nation yet?
I've played Prescott and nation this year
The winter took it's toll on nation a little more. The Prescott was completely dry
Nation was pretty wet but greens were very puttable
Prescott - March 31st
Nation - April 1st
Played Prescott on April 2 - pretty dry, still not much roll in most places of course. Greens were pretty good. For this time of year, it's in great shape.
Played amherstview in bath, beside kingston, last sunday. Overall greens good, fairways a little wet (lots of plugged balls). Overall Ok.
If anybody can update the conditions there, that would be great. Have a tee time for Saturday :)
Played Prescott on April 2, and was very impressed. Fairways weren't to wet, and greens were actually nice, no temps.
Any updates on Nation, playing Saturday wouldn't mind hearing how wet it is.
NAtion is quite wet, lots of snow around the greens and up the 11th fairway
Just got back from Prescott about 10 mins ago - April 6. Course is in great shape and almost all dry. Carts were allowed almost anywhere on the course to give you an idea on how dry it was.
Mapleview last friday March 31 was almost too dry. The marshall said they are looking forward to rain to moisten the grass and get it greener. Good conditions.
Also went to Cedar glen last Sunday April 2 which I already posted in another thread. :rolleyes
Looks like no one has played Casselview??
Casselview opens tomorrow. ;)
It's not open yet - according to the Spring Openings page.Quote:

Got a time for 11:12 tomorrow, hope this rain didn't turn it to mush.
Loyalist in Kingston is amazing for this time of year. Fairways are a little wet in a few spots..but the greens are great..
anyone play Eagle Creek yet?
The Creek has yet to open:scratchch
Looking forward to out-driving you tomorrow "big" man!!Quote:

I will post an assesment of conditions after taking all your $/or beer. looking forward to it.
The Sak.
Played Manderley today, conditions were surprisingly good for April 8th. No temp greens or tee boxes. The greens rolled fairly well for this time of year, some aerated some not. Not nearly as dry as Prescott but I was surprised at how dry it was. Still lots of soggy spots, but not really any snow. $32 w/tax - fairly good value for the conditions.
Played Champlain today:
Overall conditions are good; the course is wet but that can be expected this time of year. Some places better than others and some puddles or mounds of snow around a few greens. The greens were rolling extremely slow which took some getting used to.
Also they are not discounting anything so it's $42; nice course though.
Played Calabogie today and had a great time even tho 'twas a weeee bit chilly this morning.
Usually we see a couple temps at the bog, but even #3 was putting well today, especially consiodering it was the first day it was open. There was, like always a few wet spots, but I didn't find them as bad this year as the past.
I do have one concern tho... it was with the Bun/Weiner ratio of the dogs served at #7 tee. There was definitly too much bun in the mix, and like most ladies would say, the weiners need to be bigger............ not that i've heard that ;)
Green fees were $30, but I didnt ask how long that price would be on for and didn't check the cart prices.
Played cassleview today, hoping my shoes will dry out for tomorrow but........
:-) The greens were rolling like mid summer :-)
Best I've ever seen at this time of year!
IT sounds like Casselview is wet as it should be. Do you know if they were renting out powercarts cuz my friend is so lazy and will cry like a little baby if he has to walk to course.
How wet is Casselview? Actual puddles in the fairways?
I'm playing there tomorrow.
I played Manderley both Saturday and Sunday this weekend. The course is in amazing shape for this time of year. I'd compare it to early to mid May from previous seasons. The course is fairly dry with few puddles. With the sun we are getting Monday and Tuesday the puddles will probably be gone by the end of the week. The greens are also in great shape and most of them have been cut.
This weekend they were charging $30 + gst, although with these great conditions I'm not sure how long that will last.
Played Casselview today:
Overall Condtion was good. It's not that wet with *some* puddles here and there nothing to concern yourself about though. The greens are in awesome shape and played very well. As mentioned above with the sun forecasted it will be great. They also have two practice greens open.
Wait to go. :thumbsdow
Not in best condition, even for april. Especially with other course doing much better.
New layout this year, with 3 par 5's on front side and 3 par 3's on back side/:scratchch
Played Manderly today, it was wet in areas, but the greens were rolling pretty well. There were a few plugged balls due to the softeness/dampness of the grass, any high shot that landed in the wetter areas were possible lost balls at times. Although wet, it was playable. Better than Les Vieux, but not as dry as Mapleview yet. Should be all dried up soon though :)

Having played today, I was surprised how dry it was considering the rain we had on Friday. 13 is real wet, but should clear up by the weekend (Easter that is). Once we get some sun the greens will come around.
G.
Hey Garth
Ahhhhhhh now I see why. Yeah we noticed the houses right away and then the sign for number 5 on the other tee box. :-)
Looks like they need more work than just a little sun. Unfortunately bad case of the grubs on some of the tee boxes and some fairways:fight:
