FALCONRIDGE & GREENSMERE course reviews
We tackled both the latest additions to OTTAWA golf this week.
FALCONRIDGE is the 1st half of the "Championship" course being introduced at RACWVIEW (across from Rideau Carleton).
GREENSMERE is on the road towards Almonte.
NO, NO, NO to both. Run from both, even for free!!!!
They are so new that they are hopeless.
G. has no fairways, clubhouse, beer, parking lot, etc....
F. has hopeless greens & not much else...
They might be worth a look late next season??
Save yourselves a lot of frustration (& some cash).
You're welcome........
yikes... high standards...
Yes, only the courses with an unlimited water supply (near a BIG river) are plush and green. I hope this is not going to be a common occurence each year. I don't remember the last time we had such a prolonged drought problem, it's never been more than a couple of weeks in my memory.
That being said, I think all the new courses have done a marvelous job surviving the drought, and even some of the established courses had to let some turf die in order to keep their greens.
In any case, I don't expect all the tracks in town to rival the PGA Tour stops. I'm rather pleased.
spidey
(btw... I don't think Greensmere, or Raceview, or Timber Run ever intended to be placed in the category with Eagle Creek or Greyhawk or Mont Tremblant)
