I have some buddies going to Cozumel Mexico for a Scuba trip, so I just wanted to throw a quick tread up to see how the Golf is on the island (a Nicholas course - correct?) Also, is there other stuff to do on the island? - thanks

Tequila!
Course is great!
Room to land the ball if you play it as designed....but stray too far and you are literally in the jungle.
I really enjoyed it.
Not sure if it is still available, but the owner of the golf course also owns Playa Azul. So guests that stay there get UNLIMITED FREE (pay for 1/2 a cart) golf. Actually when we were there we got a whole pile of "cart passes" from the front desk...so it really was free golf.
I was always able to find a game, lots of fun, was even invited to play is a few of their "member/staff" tournaments.
Course was in excellent shape when I played a few years back.
A bit soft...and at sea level it's 6700 yards plays much longer than stated on the card.
Other than that, Cozumel is quite small, you can drive around the island in less than 40mins.
The entire east side is undevelped (no electricity, no running water), they have a few little beach bars but it's rather untouched.
If I remember correctly 80% of the island is protected from development by the federal government.
As for food, literally everywhere we ate the food was great! Hope you like seafood.
thanks for the replies - I do like Seafood, Tequila and golf - preferrably all at the same time !
