My garage is heated and it does not really get that hot here that I am concerned. I'm more worried about dust. What are the operating temp parameters for the projector you are looking at.
I have my projector about 2 feet from the overhead garage door. I live in Ohio and we had three weeks of sub zero temps last winter. I have had no problems with my optima projector.
I have mine attached to the roof of my garage. The garage is normally heated. Last spring I went on vacation and the heater in my garage quit at -30. It didn't bother it.
I don't leave the projector in my garage when it gets really cold. I have a heater but i only turn it on when I play so it can take a bit of time to get the garage heated to an acceptable temp. If you do leave it up there and your garage is not fully heated, you should let its internal parts 'defrost' and get to room temp before turning it on. Usually electronics will have storage and operating temp tolerances written in the manual and they aren't usually the same thing.
I was wondering the same. I'm in Maine, with an unheated but well insulated garage. What brand projectors do you have that have been unharmed in the cold temps?
