I for one, am not worried.
It's only March the 11th. We still have plenty of time for some warm weather before April. All we need is a few warm days (10d+) and the snow will vanish. Maybe it will take a little longer for some lowland courses to dry up, but I think elevated courses like Calabogie and Nation will be pretty much ready to go as soon as the snow thaws, which won't take as long as you think.
I still feel like early to mid April is when we'll be golfing!
When does your home course usually open B_N?
Funny I could have sworn that environment canada was forecasting a cooler than normal spring, but currently they are forecasting a warmer than normal March-April-May and also a higher than average precipitation for the same period.
Melt snow melt!!!
Funny I could have sworn....... that the Weather Network's 14 day forecast is calling for more snow tonight followed by a couple of days of slightly above temps and then back -1 to -6 highs from March 16 - 25 with snow in the forecast for everyday except two........ :rolleyes

The next 10 day forecast doesn't bode well for a quick snow melt.
It is very difficult to predict the weather more than 4 or 5 days out. Weather patterns change too frequently. For long-range forecasts they generally rely on historical data to formulate their predictions, with a small degree of accuracy.
I'm still optimistic!
I just got back from walking the dog, and there's buds on the maples! Go baby go!!
Rain and 5 degrees on Wed. The beginning of the end!
April 5th, here we come!
This is the only Clublink course you are going to be golfing on April 5th.........:-)

Looks like a fair bit of rain too. Should speed up the melting process some. Does FootJoy make hip waders? :)
Maybe it has not warmed up yet but long sunny days in the low 30's is just as good; i've noticed that at least a one foot of snow has disappeared quietly since last week end......
Maybe this thread should be changed to when will the first outdoor drivng range open. Then we can probably look at April 5th.
Bazooka Don, thats exactly what I was thinking...................
Most years, the driving ranges would already be open, or open within the next week.................
Understand that Kevin Haime mentioned on his past Saturday show that his snow plow contractor is unable to begin moving snow due to the fact that the ground is not frozen and the machinery would sink..............
Here is snow depth map from 12:00 am GMT, March 18.

The darker purple areas is less snow...............Showing we have about 25 cm left in Ottawa area. Certainly not the snow banks.............
Looks like snow disappears just south of Syracuse and between London and Windsor areas.
Excellent webcams setup so you can see conditions.

My kids dug a hole in the snow in our backyard right to the ground so there's no drifting or shovelling effect.
I would say it's between 3 and 4 feet deep.
I have a 5ft fence in the back that this morning was about 1ft from the top. Likely less by the time this rain is all over.
I'm liking that Syracuse idea. A friend and I might be heading down there in a few weeks if the weather keep improving.
I’m visiting my brother in law for Easter weekend in Ithaca NY one-hour south of Syracuse. I was hopping to play golf but the weather is not cooperating. Might take 4 days off to play golf down there in a couple of weeks if weather permits.
Hmmm, I'm heading down to Windsor on Tuesday for a few days. Looks like I'll be bringing my golf clubs with me!:bigcheek
