Course Openings?

Since my question regarding this was far into a thread about something else, I thought it best to re-post it in a fresh one.

Does anyone know FOR SURE that Calabogie will be opening in a week? Any other courses out that way that might be opening at the same time? Dragonfly, Renfrew, Arnprior etc....

Nothings ever for sure in the spring Dan.

Mr Kilbank usually starts a "what's open" page or link on his webpage. So just follow it here. I spoke to them last week and they did say they expected to be open beforre the end of March. That was before teh cold snap came, so who knows. :confused

Yeah... I know Dan posts the openings (or best ETA of openings), but hadn't seen anything yet. It's frustrating, since I'd golf in this temperature without hesitation. Hell, I've golfed in a snowstorm last season (well, end thereof) and had no less fun....

Guess I'm just needing 5-10 hours away from the wife and twins.... :reallymad

Howdy,

Calabogie is trying to open next week...they told me to call on Monday for a Tee Time!! Apparently there is no snow left on the course, and the greenskeeper is out today assessing the greens.

The only real date I have so far is Eagle Creek April 9th.

I will start the course openings page within a few days. Were almost there folks!

If you're really desparate and don't mind a 3-hour drive, you can always call check out this course south of Montreal near the Quebec/New York border:

International 2000 is open. In fact they opened last Saturday and had almost 100 golfers out.

Too far for me... (sob).... No car, so I'd have to convince my pard that this was a good idea.

I'll wait on Calabogie or Packenham or some course within about an hour. That looks like a pretty nice course though.

I was thinking of a Syracuse Golf/Road Trip this weekend.
Forget that idea.

We were supposed to get some of that snow up here too, but so far we've dodged it. Let's keep our fingers crossed that we get lucky the rest of the way...

Just can't wait - been trembling uncontrollably for a week or two now. Don't know if it's the new baby on the way (( May 5th )) or the lack of golf and nice weather teasing me...Must be the latter right???

We should set up a charity fund for him. I went through it quite recently (got call on golf course when wifey went into labour), and even though I kept my cellphone on while playing, I was immediately done with golf for a while...... :cryin

The twins are nice, but they really cramp my schedule.... :-)

Forget about 36, put an attachment on the bag for the baby and play 18. Babies come first.

A child need not prevent you from golfing. An infant, now that is another matter. While in university at U.N.B., I used to regularly play the Mactaquac Golf Course ( http://www.mactaquacgolf.com/welcome.html ) just outside Fredericton, N.B. With my daughter riding on my shoulders (a bag of chips always at the ready), I carried her around the course, putting her down, of course, while making a swing. Putting was a bit of a challenge until I found that she thought the traps were large sand boxes. Don't worry, I raked them after retrieving her from her playground. Surprisingly, I do not recall having a bad round while playing in this way. She probably acted as a check on my then hot temper by reminding me that it was, after all, just a game.
