Personal best!
Well, after many years I finally shot my first round under par today!
I was one over on the front, one bogey and 8 pars. Birdied 11 and started to think even or better was in reach. Bogey on 14 followed by birdie on 15 means I am standing on 16 even par.
16 at RideauView is a long par 5 and I hit a good tee shot, lay up to a good yardage but hit my approach to the wrong side of the green. I have a five foot breaking putt which I miss and then pull my par putt and make bogey. Argh!
Good tee shot on 17 and a wedge to 10 feet or so and I leave a birdie putt a couple inches short.
So I'm standing on 18 tee thinking par to tie my best, birdie to shoot even and set a new best. 18 is a par 5. I hit a good tee shot and then hook my layup into the left rough. Not good but not terrible. I have lob wedge left to a front pin.
Take dead aim and make great contact. The ball is all over the flag and it lands, takes one hop and then I can't see it. 18 is an elevated green. As I'm jumping to try and see my ball and the guys on the patio start to applaud and give me the "in the hole" sign.
So, hole out eagle and I finish with a one under 71. Beat my previous best of one over 73 and creamed my previous best of 76 at RV.
All I need now is a hole in one. I'll probably shoot 90 tomorrow.

Thanks guys.
A couple of stats from the round. 14 GIR, 31 putts. That include two three putt bogeyed and the hole out to offset them.
Contrary to my prediction, I had a good round today and shot 75. It's nice being in the zone.
