This is the place to ask questions on the mechanics of the swing etc.

  1. Negativity Over Those Short Putts

How many times have I stood over a short putt, looked at the ball, looked at the hole and the path I wish the ball to travel and said to myself, “I’m going to miss this!” How many times have I, instead of backing off and regaining my composure, not converted what I consider a “gimmee?” (Baby talk...

  2. Question Driver vs. 3-Wood

Hi Marc. I guess this is for you but opinions are welcome from anybody in our viewing area. I've reached an interesting point in my g#@fing career in that my Driver (PING) has become almost unmanageable but my 3-Wood (of the rack)has become pure gold. With our baked fairways up & down the...

  3. Figuring my club yardages

Hey gang, I need some direction on how to figure out the average (expected) distances for my irons. Ben Hogan said to simply take a bucket of balls to an empty fairway on my course & hit away to my hearts content...... Thanks Ben but even if I was a member somewhere this would be frowned on. ...

  5. Getting fitted for a driver

Hello all, I've played off and on for about 2 years and shot in the 80's a few times when I was practicing a lot. I had a lesson last fall basically to shorten my backswing, strengthen my grip, and get a proper weight shift. My swing path is ok, but my grip change encouraged a draw which I'm...

Hello folks. My girlfriend wants to pick up the game, and instead of hacking her way to a decent game like I did, I think it would be worthwhile for her to take a few lessons before getting out on a real course. (There is one lie above - I don't have decent game. :D ) I think she would be...

I always get a real kick out of David Leadbetter, he's pretty intense when it comes to the game of golf. I like all his tips because most are straight forward and simple just like the following helpful video from the 2008 Honda Classic. If you missed it enjoy.

Had my first round of the year today. I shot a 104. This is how my round went. I played 13 holes at 11 over par. Then I played the other 5 at 21 over par. What do I take out of this? Is it safe to say I have it in me to be break 90?

  23. For all you Nat Golfers, help me straighten out my irons!

This summer I have picked up something weird. I cannot for the life of me hit a decent iron, long, or short. What ends up happening 95% of the time is that I hit a low shot that pulls off to the left, about 45 degrees most of the time (no curving, just straight off to the side). Now, when I...

  50. Swing speed and shafts for seniors

Closer to 70 than 60 so figured it was time to look at senior shafts. Off to Golftown where I tried half dozen#3hybrids and to my surprise I hit the senior shafts about 5 miles slower than the stiff shafts. I thought that the lighter shafts were supposed to increase speed.
